Loving Lately: Plaid, Hair Bows + Riding Boots

I hope your 2024 is off to a good start! I’m looking forward to recapping last year’s top favorites soon (these thermals have certainly earned their spot on my list this winter) and wanted to share some recent looks in the meantime.

We had some wateriness but fortunately summery weather in NYC, so I packed my mid weight jackets and these sleek rubber boots. I’ve unchangingly been a Gossip Girl dresser at heart (give me all the bows, pearls and tweed!), but try to tone it lanugo for my age and lifestyle with just elements here and there – like a tailored jacket and velvet hair bow.

Sezane Christie Jacket

The Christie blazer is one of Sezane’s cadre pieces, misogynist year-round and comes in well over a dozen colors and fabrics. It’s well-made with a full lining, and the herringbone option is a warmer wool tousle that moreover serves me as summery day jacket. Fit wise, the size US 0 / EUR 32 is a relaxed fit on me and hits at the hips, moreover working well with jeans and loafers or ballet flats. The sleeves hit a little long on me at a unsure spot, not quite long unbearable for me to yo-yo them for now.

Size US 0 / EUR 32 measures: 14.5″ wideness the shoulders, 17″ wideness the bust, 25″ length, 23.5″ sleeve length. The other fabrics might measure a little differently, depending on how thick or thin the material is.

You can find increasingly of my Sezane try-ons here including their trench coat, sweaters & blouses!

This unorganized squint was inspired by the many Parisian fashionistas that pop up on my social feed. A archetype formula I kept seeing on repeat was upper rise straight (or wide leg) jeans, slightly cropped to show off square toe booties, and a blazer or cardigan jacket.

Bianca Lace Blouse

I got this blouse last spring, and it’s one of the prettiest pieces in my wardrobe that can be dressed lanugo with denim (see my outfit here) and dressed up for holiday and special occasions. If white feels daunting to alimony clean, it moreover comes in black.

As mentioned before, the Bianca is petite-friendly lanugo to the 7/8 length sleeves that fit perfectly on me as regular sleeves. The blouse fabric is a non-stretch organic cotton blend, and a US 0 / EUR 32 fits well on me. It does not come with any lining so I either wear just a skin-toned bra, cami or undershirt unelevated it.

This Wilson cardigan is flipside Sezane piece I’ve been reaching for increasingly lately, thanks to the relaxed feel, the thicker stocky weight, and how easy to throw on over a tee or tank. You can read my original review here.

The return of big hair bows for grown women might be one of my favorite trends this season, and Nori has been delighted that we can match! You can hands just tie any piece of ribbon into a bow, but I got this under $10 set with a prune since it’s quick and foolproof. It comes in multiple colors, and the shape and size works well for both of us. You may also read this: Most Popular Claw Tattoo Designs

Rubber Riding boots (narrow fit)

I venerate the sleek equestrian squint of these boots and find myself excited to wear them each rainy day, but the sizing and fit can be a bit tricky. They run narrow and small in both the foot and in the shaft. The shaft height hits my knees so it’s largest suited for someone taller than me (I’m 5′ tall) with slim calves. To help, I widow these thin shoe lifts but it makes the foot zone tighter. The foot zone moreover runs a little small – I’m usually a size 5/5.5 foot and am wearing the size 6 without much wiggle room.

All this stuff said, I’m a fan! I never find rubber boots that fit this nice and slim on my narrow calves or squint so tony they can scrutinizingly pass as regular boots. You can moreover see them worn in this outfit.
